I don't use the camera, I use a USB reader, or a USB/SD card, but I
have a similar problem occasionally on my laptop. I have to solve it
using modprobe.

I don't have my laptop powered up right now, so I don't have the full
command, i.e. which module to probe, but I think I found it on one of
the ubuntu sites with a bit of google work.

I'm embarassed at how bad I am at remembering things like commands and
module names. But if it's the same problem I had on my kubuntu laptop,
it should be the critical bit of info.

FWIW, it works just fine on my fedora systems, I never have to
modprobe them, it's the kubuntu that'll forget that it knows how to
talk to USB drives.
