I don't use the camera, I use a USB reader, or a USB/SD card, but I have a similar problem occasionally on my laptop. I have to solve it using modprobe. I don't have my laptop powered up right now, so I don't have the full command, i.e. which module to probe, but I think I found it on one of the ubuntu sites with a bit of google work. I'm embarassed at how bad I am at remembering things like commands and module names. But if it's the same problem I had on my kubuntu laptop, it should be the critical bit of info. FWIW, it works just fine on my fedora systems, I never have to modprobe them, it's the kubuntu that'll forget that it knows how to talk to USB drives. # Thanks, Capt.
