Encoding problems

Having encoding problems within my local wireless network. The problem:

  * On PC1 I'm running KDE on OpenSUSE 10.3
  * On PC2 I'm running KDE on PCLINUXOS 2007-1
  * Both PCs using KDE 3.5.8.
  * Both PCs using encoding en_US.UTF-8 (submitting echo $LANG)

Now, when creating directories and files with Swedish letters (åäö) using PC2
(PCLINUXOS) they are displayed correctly using sftp or fish protocols in
Konqueror on PC1 (OpenSUSE). This is not the case in the other direction.

Example. "Björn" is being displayed as "Björn"
Example. "AåÄÖTest" is being displayed as "AÃ¥Ã?Ã?Test"

What can I do to resolve this ?

Thank's in advance.

Sven
