Thank you for the reply, maybe you can help to solve the kscreensaver issues.

Seriously?  Have you ever played Kolf?

:-)

WFM

Is it "works for me"? http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-query.asp?acronym=WFM People abuse of acronyms and we do not understand :-)

The first two points are historical. But they did happen a few years ago.

WFM (Unless I try and use a really cool OpenGL screensaver on sub-optimal
hardware.)

No, no... The animation is OK for a long time, then the screen goes black, and then the animation reappears frozen (I think this is the sequence, but I am not sure 100 %). I think kscreensaver thinks that the monitor is switched off but actually it is not...

Anyway, I am not the only one to see this problem, many people have noticed it as well.

WFM, modulo the beryl wm stacking the unlock dialog behind OpenGL
screensavers, sometimes.  Of course, that's not a KDE issue -- beryl is
developed outside the KDE project.

Compiz does not work for me at all, so I tried using the translucencies of kwin. The screensaver does not auto start. If I manually lock the screen, it works but after some minutes, the screensaver disappears.

Perhaps you should file a bug report with detailed configuration information;

I did: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148758

By the way, why this almost null activity in KDE bug tracking system? See, eg, http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=148654 and http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=147293 . They remain unconfirmed. OK, I do not know about fixing them, but they can be confirmed in 30 seconds... Is it because developers are focusing in KDE 4? Is it because a little number of developers?

Thank you again,

David
