irkick blocks keyboard

Hello,
I have IR remote control with lircd. Everything is working fine as long as I 
don't start irkick. irkick used to work on KDE <3.5.7 but now it completely 
blocks my keyboard. No keystrokes at all (also Ctrl + Alt + F1) work. IR also 
does not work. As soon as I quit irkick everthing is back to normal.

Anyone an idea what could be wrong?
