Use and set beagle in KDE

Hello,

I use the KDE interface for Beagle (Kerry) and it always claims that the Beagle daemon is not running, so I have to start it manually. Although I tick the box to start the daemon automatically on login, it looks not to work.

Once the daemon is running, it takes a lot of resources. Is it because it has been some days without running, or is it always so bloated? (in gnome, beagle daemon runs very smoothly)

I use Debian sid.

So two questions:

1) Why does beagle in this case consume so many resources?
2) How can I automatically start the daemon as I login into KDE?

Thank you
