"Click to raise" and composite manager

Hi,

I recently have been playing around with the composite features in KDE 3.5.5. 
After enabling the translucency/shadow effects I found that clicking anywhere 
in a window to raise it no longer works. I can only raise windows by clicking 
on their title bar.

Is this a known problem? is there something else I have to configure? Or is it 
a bug that should be reported? I'm using Kubuntu 6.10, by the way.
