Sometimes I log in and it just works as it should, and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't, I can log off and log in again till it works. Or I can change the keyboard layout in Control Center for any other keyboard and then set it back to the correct one a few times till it works. Once it works, it remains working as long as I'm logged in. No idea about what's causing that. I'm using Fedora Core 5 and KDE 3.5.4 from kde-redhat. My keyboard is ABNT2 (brazilian). It worked before, when I was using Fedora Core 4, but too many packages have changed from FC4 to FC5 and I don't know where exactly is the problem. One thing that works is to add the line: Option "XkbOptions" "altwin:meta_win" to your xorg.conf. But then, this has the collateral effect of Alt GR (the right ALT key) not working as it should. I mean, when I add this line the win key always work, but I can't use Alt GR to access the special symbols that there are in some of my keyboard keys (some keys have a third character printed on them, which should be accessible using Alt GR). Till now, I didn't manage to get win key and Alt GR working at the same time. As far as I now, despite the erratic behavior of KDE where sometimes the win key works and sometimes it doesn't, this is a X configuration problem. I've read reports from Gnome users with the same problem. []'s Marcelo ___________________________________________________ This message is from the kde mailing list.
