Well, the base install was no problem. But I'm fighting with the X and nvidia 
installation that won't do what I want.

I have to read carefully the new doc. I last installed 2005.1 with no great 
problem. I've now tried the 2006 graphical version but there are probably 
things I've missed. I'll have to try the text version.

Gentoo install *is* long, even with a fast computer. That's why I'm doing 
while on holliday. I'm happy temperature got a little lower today, these 
modern CPUs could be sold as heaters :)
