Harry, What was the solution to this problem? Have encountered 'Protocol not supported' errors before and ended up doing a forced update of KDE3Base part 3, as I recall. That solution leads me to suspect the real problem is nothing more than configuration files misconfigured. Any info you can shed on fixing, 'Protocol not supported' errors, would be useful--as I've never seen any good solutions posted for this problem. Thanks!
