Hi My current java version is 1.4.2 and I'm about to upgrade to 1.5.2 Seems to be rather a lot of jre directories on my machine namely: etc/alternatives/jre usr/lib/jre usr/lib/jvm/jre usr/lib/jvm/-exports/jre usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-sun-1.4.2.06/jre usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-sun-1.4.2.10/jre Konq's path is usr/lib/jvm/bin/java which seems to be a symbolic link to /usr/lib/jvm/jre/bin. Well - what are they all for and do I just need to put the new version in usr/lib/jvm/jre/bin? Must I use a symbolic link for the java vm path in Konq? And last but not least will the file downloaded from sun work with konq? Must also admit that I am amazed by the number of other copies in my machine. The suse 10 release notes did say something about the versioned directories though. ?Makes changes easier ??
