Running X-Applications w/o being hungup

I run KDE on a machine and want some solution to the problem I have. I would
like to ssh into the machine from my Laptop, launch some X-application and
then log-off w/o affecting the X-application. If necessary, I should be able to
login again into the machine and get back the X-application on my display.
In other words, I would like to run X-application under something like
'screen'. I found that currently X-application aborts, even if run under
screen, as soon as I log off. It works better under nohup (doesnt abort)
but X-application doesnt work properly when I try to get it "back".

Is it possible to run an X-application like what I want?
