According to this site 
http://www.btofaq.net/articles/email.html
you should be able to create a KMail setup using SMTP and POP3 with 
mail.btopenworld.com as the server for both categories.

In KMail: Settings->configure KMail
under Network create a new entry for oth incoing and outgoing and use 
mail.btopenworld.com as the server
