Thanks for the answer but I haven't altered the config of the ethernet interface to the router. The set up had run ok for well over 12months. An ifconfig dump follows: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:FC:AA:BB:39 inet addr:10.0.0.8 Bcast:255.255.255.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::250:fcff:feaa:bb39/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:10925 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:13385 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 RX bytes:3416867 (3.2 Mb) TX bytes:1227518 (1.1 Mb) Interrupt:17 Base address:0xac00 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:965 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:965 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:178740 (174.5 Kb) TX bytes:178740 (174.5 Kb) ????
