How did you check your file associations?

You need to check the file associations for:

	inode/directory

Under the "General" tab, you should probably have only: "Konqueror".

Under "Embedding" you should have: "Show file in embedded viewer" 
checked in the radio.  There is a list of embedded stuff but since The 
Gimp is not an embedded app, this shouldn't be an issue.

If this is correct, you can open the: "gimp.desktop" file and look for: 
"inode/directory".
