It is possible for multiple computers to each run a separate remote desktop. 
To do that, you need to first configure X to allow remote logins. I don't 
have the setting in front of me, but I will look it up if anyone needs it. 
Then, on the remote computer, do

X -query computername

or X -query 192.168.whatever

and you should get the main computer's login screen on your remote computer.
