yes, it does but I am trying to write a template script for other users to use and want it to be as flexible as possible.

So I'd still like to know how to query the name of a desktop and change it programmatically.

thanks for any info,

Martin Foster

I'm trying to write to a script to name virtual desktops at logon and
populate each named virtual desktop with named command shells. This is a
daily chore at my job and I'd like to take the manual tedium of naming /
renaming virtual desktops.

If you rename the desktops and then save this session, doesn't Kicker restore
the naming correctly?

Cheers,
