Disable tft powermgmt for laptop when running on line power w/ kde 3.4.1?

Hi list!

Is it possible to automatically disable the shut-off function of the tft
after n
minutes, if the laptop isn't running on batteries?


So, the behaviour I'd like it to have would be:

running on battery: tft shuts off after n minutes, no screensaver runs
(to save
battery)

running on line power: tft stays on all the time, screensaver activates
after n
minutes (better for the tft)


I'm running KDE 3.4.1 on Gentoo on an ASUS M6N, ACPI works fine showing
battery
status (present / absent), maybe a little script could use these
informations at
startup?
