Each dir/file in kde-user is owned by the respective user. The files ksycoca and ksycocastamp have both been modified on start-up today. Perhaps renaming these and logging in/out may solve things, but I dont know enough to guarantee results. FWIW, I tweak my menus by editing the prg.desktop file as root and adding/deleting the line NoDisplay=true/false to hide/show a menu item. Obviously this is system wide so it may not suit your needs.
