Telling the Desktop Manager to shut down

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I am using a non-KDE window manager with the KDE Desktop Manager (KDM). I'd
like to have the Window Manager tell KDM to shut down, without calling
shutdown directly.

Right now I use the fifo method for this:

echo -e "shutdown\thalt\tforcenow" > ${XDM_MANAGED%%,*}

As I heard, this is going to be removed from KDE 4. Is that right? And, what
is the new method?
