I hope this works, I use the standard settings myself:
Control Center->KDE components->component chooser
entry for web browser, second possible choice (the input line)
Try something like
konqueror --profile webbrowsing --mimetype text/html %u

or maybe
kfmclient openURL %u text/html

Something I forgot to ask yesterday:
how is the site detecting the re-visits? Cookies?
