Re: can not start any sessions from kdm

I have KDE 3.3 from Gentoo installed, and on one of my boxes, it simply will 
not start KDE from KDM.  startx works fine, but when I log in via KDM, the 
screen goes black for a few seconds, and then the KDM login box comes back.

Where do I look for error logs?  What program/scripts should KDM be running?
