Do you have APM support compiled into your kernel or as a module? If it
is as a module, check that it's loaded :)

Yes, APM is loaded and working. I just can't find the KDE utility that sits in
the tray telling me how much battery I have left!



It should be in kdeutils, if you have this package installed. If it's not then I can only assume your distro has broken the packages up strangely?
