inclusing the dcop entry under /tmp/.ice-unix and tmp/kde-USER and
mcop-USER and in the home/USER del anything like .DCOPxxxxx .ICExxxxxx
and then reboot as normal. If that fail do the same again but rename the
home/USER/.kde folder and reboot so it can regenerate but you will have
to redo your configs in that case.
i clean all tmp dirs. remove KDE dir in my home dir at all. But it does not help.
any suggestions? will kde reinstalling solve the problem?

# su
# cd /home/<your_user_name>/
# rm .ICEauthority
And the I rebooted and logged in as myself again. The .ICEauthority file gets remade.
I have just had to re-customize all of my kde including re-establishing app links I have made in the past.
So before you try this see if you can login as a different user first.
Er.... I am right now going to copy .ICEauthority to my backup directory so as to avoid re-customizing should this happen again.
NOTE: I fixed things without having to do a re-install of Mandrake10.0 Official. Try that in Windows!
