Know that the answer to to every question of the type:

"Which player plays xyz best"

will always be 

"mplayer (www.mplayerhq.hu)"

Of course, keep a copy of xine, just in case. I haven't seen a case where 
_both_ of them fail, although mplayer plays 99.9% of what i've encountered.
