I guess there is something broken in PNG handling in QT/'KDE.
Image http://www.culm.net/candleico.png in konqueror@PPC looks this way:

But, the same image without transparency,
(http://www.culm.net/candleico-2.png ) looks just fine. Also, original image
opened in kuickshow looks fine.
The same thing happens in KControl - http://www.culm.net/ppc-broken1.png.
