Hi, I'm setting up a desktop image for use by some of our faculty. I'm attempting to create a standard desktop. I've toyed briefly with the kiosk admin tool, but thought I could get away with something simpler. Plus I'd just like to understand how thing are put together before I start leaning on a gui admin tool. I made a prototype account. I set things up the way I want, and logged the account out. Then I tarred up that account's ~/.kde, ~/.config, and ~/.local directories. A short Xsession script puts them in place as required. All is well and good, but for the menus. My menu changes don't follow. I've looked for updated files using 'find . -mmin -1', when I save menu changes. They all seem to be in the directories I'm copying. Is anything updated outside of the home directories? I'm using kde 3.2.2 from Debian sarge. -- Ron Peterson Network & Systems Manager Mount Holyoke College ___________________________________________________ .
