Open a konsole. vi $HOME/.kde/Autostart/xscreensaver.desktop type in: [Desktop Entry] Exec=xscreensaver Name=XScreensaver Type=Application X-KDE-StartupNotify=false Login back into KDE. The splash screen will automaticlly come up and disappear in a few seconds. Turn this off with: run: xscreensaver-demo Click on "Advanced" tab and uncheck "Display Splash Screen at Startup". Now the splash screen will not show up. You can also look at .xscreensaver in $HOME, but always use xscreensaver-demo to update it. Actually "Blank After" is "Timeout". This specfies how much inactivity before starting the screensaver. Take a look at http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/man2.html --- Ze <mmodem00@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > So isnt possible to put the xscreensaver running in > the backgroung like kde, > right? > Because i made a shortcut of the command > xscreensaver in > $HOME/.kde/Autostart/xscreensaver.desktop, like you > said and now when i run > kde allways appears the xscreensaver dialog window. > Another thing, i cant see where i can configure the > idle time before the > xscreensaver starts, only haves to configure 'Blank > After' and 'Cycle after'. > Any help? > > Em Quinta, 12 de Agosto de 2004 19:01, o JASON JESSO > escreveu: > > First in control panel->look n feel-> Screensavers > > > > - unchecked "start screen saver automaticlly". > > > > - compiled xscreensaver software and installed it. > > (Mandrake does not package the "XMatrix" > screensaver > > with the xscreensaver rpm.) > > > > - Configure xscreensaver with "xscreensaver-demo". > > > > - Create a > $HOME/.kde/Autostart/xscreensaver.desktop, > > to start xscreensaver daemon on kde startup. > > > > I removed the kde login/logout applet from the > panel. > > and put two icons that when clicked runs: > > > > xscreensaver-command -lock (for locking my > desktop) > > > > and > > > > xscreensaver-demo (for configuring xscreensaver) > > > > --- Ze <mmodem00@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > Em Quinta, 12 de Agosto de 2004 14:06, o JASON > JESSO > > > > > > escreveu: > > > > Thx. > > > > > > > > I hate the kde screensavers.
