Greetings; I haven't been able to build a kde install succesfully in a couple of months. AND the MESSAGES I POST to this list are NOT coming back, whats the problem with my posts? This morning I got up to find this on the build screen: ---------------------- /bin/sh ../libtool --silent --mode=link --tag=CXX g++ -Wnon-virtual-dtor -Wno-long-long -Wundef -ansi -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_BSD_SOURCE -Wcast-align -Wconversion -Wchar-subscripts -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -Wwrite-strings -O2 -I/root/kde3.3-beta2/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -L/root/kde3.3-beta2/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -O2 -pipe -I/root/kde3.3-beta2/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -L/root/kde3.3-beta2/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -O2 -pipe -Wformat-security -Wmissing-format-attribute -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -fno-common -DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE -DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST -DQT_NO_STL -DQT_NO_COMPAT -DQT_NO_TRANSLATION -L/root/kde3.3-beta2/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/root/kde3.3-beta2/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -o kpovmodeler -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/root/kde3.3-beta2/lib -R /root/kde3.3-beta2/lib -R /root/kde3.3-beta2/lib -R /usr/X11R6/lib main.o libkpovmodeler.la /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/3.3.2/../../../libfontconfig.so: undefined reference to `FT_Get_BDF_Property' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[5]: *** [kpovmodeler] Error 1 make[5]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.2.92/kpovmodeler' make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[4]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.2.92/kpovmodeler' make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.2.92' make[2]: *** [all] Error 2 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.2.92' make[1]: *** [build-work/kdegraphics-3.2.92/Makefile] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics' make: *** [dep-../../kde/kdegraphics] Error 2 [root@coyote konstruct]# ---------------------- What can I do to make this work? I've restarted it, and I see that www.graphviz.org is unreachable, as it was yesterday also. I suspect it will make about 20 attempts to get it, but apparently that site has no mirrors, I restarted it at least 10 times yesterday trying to make it use a different download site for graphviz-1.12.tar.gz, but it would not. How can I force this if a different site has this file? Changing the MASTER site in kde.conf.mk doesn't seem to effect this, its still going to www.graphviz.org to get this file, and that site won't even ping. It does resolve to 192.20.225.20 but it is not pingable. I changed the MASTER_SITE to a local mirror at gatech, same error, then I found the graphhviz Makefile was hard coded and took that out, but it hasn't done anything but return a 404 from any of the other mirrors. Its restored and I'm dead till that site can be resuscitated unless this is not the above problem. Somehow they don't seem to be connected to me. Please advise. Further research on google discloses that this is an AT&T supplied program and IS NOT GPL'd. Since AT&T announced friday that they are out of the residential long distance market (good riddance) I wonder if shutting this site down is also part of their grand demise? -- Cheers, Gene There are 4 boxes to be used in defense of liberty.
