Hi! I have an external serial modem which I plugged with a usb<-> serial adapter to my laptop. This works fine with pilot-link and kppp. It also works fine with 'pon', a dial up tool from debian. BUT It does not work with kppp! :( kppp recognizes my modem (with "Query modem...", it dials but finally, it can't start pppd. The error is: Jul 10 12:56:36 beaves pppd[11767]: pppd 2.4.2 started by dani, uid 1000 Jul 10 12:56:36 beaves pppd[11767]: using channel 8 Jul 10 12:56:36 beaves pppd[11767]: Using interface ppp0 Jul 10 12:56:36 beaves pppd[11767]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyUSB0 Jul 10 12:56:36 beaves pppd[11767]: sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0xa0000> <magic 0xc64d1d41> <pcomp> <accomp>] Jul 10 12:57:06 beaves pppd[11767]: Terminating on signal 15. Jul 10 12:57:12 beaves pppd[11767]: Exit. Anyone can give me any hint? It wouldn't be such a strange problem if I couldn't dial up at all. But as I said, it works with 'pon'... TIA! ~ Dani
