In Konqueror: Setting -> Configure Toolbars... Delete everything in "Location Toolbar" Go to "Main Toolbar" and delete/add whatever you want :) Click OK.
Go to Settings -> Toolbars -> Select only what you want.

Second, deleting everything from the location toolbar does not get rid of the search combo. The fact that you can not remove it is clearly a bug and needs to be fixed.
