hi,
I'm investigating providing menu items in the applications menu on KDE
(without having root priviledges), and was hoping someone might be able
to help with the following questions
1) is it always correct to write into .desktop entries into
$HOME/.kde/applnk - or can this vary by distribution?
2) is an upcoming version of KDE going to support the standards being
defined on www.freedesktop.org?
and this one is really probably something I've got to do myself, but on
the off chance someone already knows...
3) do existing versions of KDE and GNOME do any intelligent importing of
each others menu items? (ie I'm planning to write entries into both
areas at the moment on the assumption that they are independent)
