s'ok.  i'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, 'cause if you just 
want to get rid of the kicker, you can use the option suggested by kevin 
there.  but if you're wanting a more restrictive approach, you may want to 
look into kde's kiosk mode.  a little info can be found here:
