Printing is a sufficiently common action for a sufficiently large number of MIME types that perhaps it should have first-class support. For each MIME type, KDE could associate a set of applications that can print that MIME type, just like it now has a set that can open. In many cases the "print" app would be the same as the "open" app but with a command-line flag (like "--print"), but there's no requirement that this be the case.
