There would appear to be a regression in the KDE Menu code.
If the mouse is under the menu that pops-up the entry under the mouse will be autoselected. It should only happen when the mouse is moved, but it happens even when the mouse is static.
I have tried to report this to Bugzilla, but Bugzilla insists on having an application to report against, when this applies to all applications.
BugZilla can be a little strange till you get used to it. :-)
You can report this against "kde - General KDE problem".
But in this case, I would report it against: kdelibs.
