Unable to configure KDM

hello,
	I am running Fedora Core 1 on my system. I recently installed kde 3.2 of the 
Rpms i downloaded from kde.org.
	I want to make KDM the defaukt login manager but whatever I always get GDM as 
the display.
	I changed my /etc/sysconfig/desktop line DESKTOP="KDM" and also tried 
DESKTOP="KDE"
	How do i check if KDM will run properly or not.
