Hi,
i used rpm with rpm -Uvh arts-3.1.5.i586 and the same with kdebase, kdelibs etc. but rpm refused updating the package above and the system message was:
rpm error: arts-1.1.5-devel needs arts arts-1.1.4.
I tried to do the update automatically with YaST on SuSe 9.0 but Suse refused with the same message.
So that's why asked if i need to update to arts-1.1.4 first.

Are you updating with RPMs?
If so, you need to Upgrade all of the packages with one command line or
select them all in KPackage.
Could you please describe in more detail exactly what you did and copy and
paste the actual error message?
