The kdemultimedia-3.1.94 gives me the build error (in attached file)
I am using Slackware 9.1 and kdelibs, kdebase ands arts have built fine for me.

This is your error. The rest is the result of not finding this header file.
To build KDE, you *must* have the required version of aRts installed with the same prefix as you will install KDE.
In this case, this would be: "arts-1.1.94"
If you have installed it, then look for the specific header file above.
