Title: Teachable Moment – Studying Sea Level Rise From Space

Earth Satellite Joins NASA Fleet to Monitor Sea Level, Improve Weather Forecasts

On Saturday, Nov. 21, a new Earth satellite is joining NASA's fleet to track sea level, improve weather forecasts, and study our changing planet. A U.S.-European partnership, the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite continues a long tradition of collecting scientific data from Earth orbit – a task that's increasingly important for better understanding the causes and effects of climate change.

Visit our Teachable Moments blog to learn more about the mission and find out how to make classroom connections to NASA Earth science. Plus, explore related teaching and learning resources, including demonstrations, experiments, videos, and opportunities to incorporate NASA data into your instruction.
