Overview: Come learn from the experts how NASA plans to monitor soil moisture and freeze/thaw cycles from space using its Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) spacecraft scheduled to launch in January. Learn about the engineering used in designing this amazing spacecraft as well as the science it is designed to accomplish. Return to your classroom with an understanding of the big picture of how we explore Earth from space and how that information impacts our lives.

There is no registration fee for this event. Please plan to bring or buy a lunch -- food and beverages will not be provided. We will take a one-hour lunch break.
