Mars Rover to Enter Giant Crater

After surviving whopper dust storms this summer, NASA's Mars Rover Opportunity is about to go "back in time" by climbing into Victoria Crater, which is half a mile wide and filled with a lot of Martian geological history.

Rover Project Manager John Callas of JPL talks about Opportunity and Victoria in a new podcast available at http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/multimedia/podcast/mer-20070907/and through various podcasting sites.

More information on Opportunity and its twin rover, Spirit, is at www.nasa.gov/rovers .
