* High School Student Summer Internships
There is great interest in high school student employment opportunities at NASA centers.  The Jet Propulsion Laboratory has a summer program for students sixteen years and older, between their sophomore and junior year, between their junior and senior year, or just graduated high school.  It is a paid six-week work experience open to students who live within 50 miles of JPL (located in La Canada, CA.).
Called "SpaceSHIP" (Space Summer High School Internship Program), it is highly competitive.  We are looking for top students who are having success on an honors/AP track or are taking full advantage of the STEM opportunities available to them.  We would be delighted if you could communicate this opportunity to students, high school science educators and counselors as you see fit.

Application deadline is March 9.  Details and the application are at: http://education.jpl.nasa.gov/k12/index.html.

* Caltech YESS (Young Engineering & Science Scholars) Program
The California Institute of Technology (Caltech), which operates JPL, is accepting applications into their YESS program.  Current high school sophomores and juniors will spend three weeks at Caltech, June 24 - July 13, 2007.  Applications must be postmarked by February 28.  Details, eligibility and the application can be found at: http://yess.caltech.edu/
