It has a complicated status matrix for one, that doesn't really seem to be required - either the firmware is there or not. All that *_status stuff seems unecessary to me. Can we instead just reduce this? And then use plain old firmware loader like for dmc, maybe with a small convenience function that loads it into a gem bo. In case of doubt I think open-coding using a set of helpers (to load firmware, throw it into a gem obj and then just use core gem function to bind the vma somewhere) is much better. -Daniel > --- > drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_debugfs.c | 12 +-- > drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_guc.h | 39 +++---- > drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_guc_loader.c | 177 +++++++++++++++++--------------- > 3 files changed, 120 insertions(+), 108 deletions(-) > > diff --git a/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_debugfs.c b/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_debugfs.c > index ec0c2a05e..873f1b2 100644 > --- a/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_debugfs.c > +++ b/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_debugfs.c > @@ -2402,7 +2402,7 @@ static int i915_guc_load_status_info(struct seq_file *m, void *data) > { > struct drm_info_node *node = m->private;
