You may also need to modify intel_dp_is_edp().
That made the trick!
I also changed
if (port == PORT_A)
return true;
into
if (port == PORT_D)
return true;
in intel_dp_is_edp() and now I have a card0-eDP-1 with intel_backlight
and also card0-DP-1 card0-DP-2 card0-HDMI-A-1 card0-HDMI-A-2
card0-VGA-1.
