I'm working on a demonstration patch series with lots of detailed comments in the commit message to explain my idea in detail. It won't be tested (since I don't have a skl here) but should serve as a guideline for this refactoring. -Daniel > --- > drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_drv.c | 3 -- > drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_csr.c | 79 ++++++++++++++++----------------- > drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_drv.h | 2 +- > drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_runtime_pm.c | 3 +- > 4 files changed, 41 insertions(+), 46 deletions(-) > > diff --git a/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_drv.c b/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_drv.c > index 217efcb..18aaaf6 100644 > --- a/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_drv.c > +++ b/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/i915_drv.c > @@ -1066,10 +1066,7 @@ static int bxt_resume_prepare(struct drm_i915_private *dev_priv) > > static int skl_resume_prepare(struct drm_i915_private *dev_priv) > { > - struct drm_device *dev = dev_priv->dev;
