That's what you're supposed to do when you send patches to the list, whether they are yours or not. While the Developer's Certificate of Origin does not explicitly state anything about the quality of the contribution like the Reviewer's Statement of Oversight does, I think it's implied you stand by your signed off work and not send someone else's crap, even if it's certified open source crap.
