My high-level idea for this was that we reuse the atomic support (once we have it) and just take the acpi tables as a slightly different source for an atomic update. Since the design of a name/value pair for objects is very similar to what we do with the atomic ioctl this hopefully should map fairly well. Internally in the driver the only work needed to do would be to add any missing properties. All the acpi atomic update code should be fully i915 agnostic and only use generic atomic update interfaces.
