[QA 09/26 ww39] Testing report for `drm-intel-testing` (was: Updated -next)

Summary

We covered the platform: BSW, Broadwell, Baytrail-M, Haswell, Ivybridge, SandyBridge, IronLake.

We involved BSW first time. Basically HDMI/DP works, and eDP doesn’t works for a regression issue.

 

In this circle, 5 new bugs are filed.

Bug 84320 - [BDW Regression]HDMI hotplut cause CallTrace

Bug 84310 - [BDW]Black screen shows while executing xrandr rotation

Bug 84265 - [BSW Regression]System fails to find eDP monitor.

Bug 84303 - [BSW]Monitor losts signal on some interlaced resolutions. 

Bug 84304 - [BSW]Monitor is black screen with backlight on some HDMI resolutions. 

 

Finding

6 Top bugs

Bug 83094 - [BDW Bisected]System dmesg contains "ERROR" when machine resumes from s3   

Bug 82340 - [HSW Bisected] Fail to resume from S4, causing system hang (once out of 5 test circles)

Bug 82842 - [BYT-M]System unable go to S4 sporadically  

Bug 82593 - [HSW-M/BYT/BDW/BSW]udevadm unable to monitor HDMI plug/unplug event sporadically

Bug 83483 - [BSW]System unable go to S3/S4

Bug 76877 - [HSW/BYT]Sysfs RC6 residency counter is inaccurate

 

Following two bugs existed in –testing, but they can be fixed in latest –nightly branch.

Bug 81948 - [BYT-M Regression]System unable resume from S3/S4 

Bug 74102 - [ILK/SNB/IVB/HSW Regression]igt/testdisplay causes *ERROR* Pipe A FIFO underrun

Power part:

HSW FBC feature saves consumption 1.75%(This is really big compare old data), LPSP feature saves consumption 0.45%.

BDW FBC feature saves consumption 0.52%, LPSP feature saves consumption 0.52%
