Per inquiries from Vathsala et al, here's some early code for initializing the backlight PWM from VBT if it hasn't been initialized by the BIOS. I didn't have the chance to test this at all yet, just wanted to unblock others. Testing and comments welcome. Particularly the frequency in Hz to PWM register value conversions need eyeballs.
