i915, external VGA: output missdirected?

Hi,

I need help urgently, my external monitor 22" doesn't
get a signal since I bootet my laptop Lenovo B560
with closed lid an set the 1680x1050 manually. I worked
fine that whole day. But after rebooting after
that event the VGA interface denys to give any
signal to VGA. The VGA interface with the external
22" monitor worked fine for months.
I'm working with xubuntu. I installed xubuntu again
on another partition - but the same fault. So its not
fault of somewhat settings in xubuntu. I've
Win7 installed, too. Win7 works, sends output to VGA
but seems to be confused:
Win7 denies to make 1680x1050 , a screen appears
only with maximum 1024x768 but Win7 claims with a
popup message, that 1680x1050 is the best. It seems
that the VGA is redirected to the LVDS1 laptop
screen and is "misunderstood". Is there somewhat
BIOS on the i915 graphics card that I need to clear?

~$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1366 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192
LVDS1 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 193mm
   1366x768 60.0*+
   1360x768 59.8 60.0
   1024x768 60.0
   800x600 60.3 56.2
   640x480 59.9
VGA1 connected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
   1680x1050 60.0 +
   1600x1200 60.0
   1280x1024 75.0 60.0
   1440x900 75.0
   1280x960 60.0
   1152x864 75.0
   1280x720 60.0
   1024x768 75.1 70.1 66.0 60.0
   832x624 74.6
   800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2
   640x480 72.8 75.0 66.7 60.0
   720x400 70.1

The command xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1680x1050
makes a virtual 1680x1050 desktop on the laptop screen,
NOT on the external monitor. The VGA output seems to
be cut.

Please help, I need the external VGA urgently.

thx
Eckard
