How to build the Hardware Decode platform based on Ivy Bridge linux?

hardware platform : Ivy Bridge/Sandy Bridge,     intel 3rd and 2nd 
generation HD graphics 
OS: linux
Interface: VAAPI


Is there anyone who had the experience doing this job?  My question is 
What linux OS?drivers should be installed and How to config the 
enviroment for Hardware Acceleration ? Is there anyone can supply a 
configuration document?
